MAKE-UP

MAKE UP:

I have looked at Indian make-up. I mainly looked at the eye make-up and elements of clothing that match with it.

Before the Shoot:

This is my chosen image which shows the makeup more in depth before the photo-shoot. The photograph I have taken shows the depth of the makeup and allows you to concentrate on the main aspect of the image rather than being distracted by the other colours and objects around the subject. I have taken pictures of the model before the photo-shoot to show the stages of how the makeup was done because I wanted to show how the makeup is not really complete without the clothing and accessories. In this image, it is just showing the makeup without the accessories so it shows that although it is not complete without the other aspects, it still plays a big role in Indian beauty.

During the Shoot:

I chose this image as my main outcome as it is clearly showing the aspects of makeup. It is a close up shot taken with a Nikon DSLR and you can see in the image that her face looks vibrant and warm. This is because I used two studio lights in my photo-shoot with gold umbrellas to give a warm lighting effect on the main subject of the image. I feel that my outcome was successful because using the technical equipment helped me get into the depth of the image and also brought out the detail of the makeup on her face. My outcome clearly shows what I wanted to achieve. To improve my work, I could have changed the setting of the photo-shoot and could have taken the pictures in a outside location so the aesthetics were a bit more clear.

USING AN iPHONE CAMERA:

Along with using the Nikon DSLR, I also experimented with how the image would look if it was taken with an iPhone. The camera on the  iPhone 6 has an 8-megapixel 1/3-inch sensor with a 1.5µm pixel size. Although it is not as good as a DSLR camera, it still allows you to take a picture with more or less with the same quality. It contains features such as auto brightness, aperture settings and also gives an option of a flash. I took this picture with my iPhone camera. I also used the Transfer filter provided by Apple to give my picture an extra and better effect.
